Evaluation of Financial Support Applications

Representatives of the Ministère evaluate financial support applications submitted by the school board cultural committees.

Existing committees

An amount of up to $10 000 may be allocated to an existing committee that, in the preceding year, carried out activities consistent with the objectives and mandates of the school board cultural committee, and is planning to do so again in the year ahead.

Evaluation criteria

Diversity and background of the members
Implementation of a wide variety of quality measures to promote the cultural dimension in schools according to the following focuses of development: cultural partnerships established by the school board; communication with the school board and partners; support and guidance for educators when considering the cultural dimension in their schools; and the organization of events to enhance the cultural life of the school.

An additional amount may be added for an existing committee that:

updated its cultural policy during the 2022-2023 school year
has at least one representative from the arts and culture community (artist, writer or cultural organization representative) as a member
has at least one representative of a school board’s parents’ committee as a member
stands out due to the innovative character of the measures it has taken to promote the cultural dimension in the school

The amount of financial assistance will be adjusted annually to take account of the available resources.

New committee

An amount of up to $3 000 may be allocated to a new school board cultural committee over the course of the next school year.
