Learning to Be Prioritized for the 2021-2022 School Year in the Context of the Pandemic

The following documents applied during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years. They served as a planning aid for teachers in exceptional circumstances where learning conditions may have been affected by the health crisis:

These documents identified, in a comprehensive manner, the learning to be prioritized. It was important to devote time to these elements throughout the school year in order to help students progress to the next level.

If the learning context permitted it, teachers were invited to go beyond the elements presented in these documents by drawing on official publications, in particular, the Québec Education Program and the Progression of Learning.

Although the Learning to Be Prioritized documents focused only on certain subjects, there was an ongoing requirement to teach all subjects and compulsory content targeted by the Basic school regulation for preschool, elementary and secondary education. In all cases, it was up to teachers to determine which learning was to be prioritized in subjects and content not included in the Learning to Be Prioritized documents.
