Teacher Appreciation Week: February 5 to 11, 2017
Teacher Appreciation Week is an annual event that takes place during the first week of February. It is intended to recognize the commitment of teachers to education and their contributions to Québec society. Since 1994, schools have participated in this event in a variety of ways, often collaborating with parent committees.
This year’s Teacher Appreciation Week will take place from February 5 to 11, 2017. The theme chosen is:
With your help, I’m reaching for success!
This theme refers to the contributions and the key role of the teachers who engage with and educate students. Every day, teachers use their skills to help students learn, grow and succeed. Commitment and passion for teaching must be recognized and celebrated.
World Teachers' Day: October 5
Since 1994, World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated on October 5. It pays tribute to teachers in all levels of education throughout the world, and to researchers in the field of education. It is also intended to motivate governments and the people they serve to contribute sufficient financial assistance in support of teachers, and to ensure that access to education becomes a reality for the young people of today’s and tomorrow’s generations worldwide.
