Project Models

Concentration in Arts Education Model

These projects are designed to provide an enriched arts education conducive to the students’ overall development.

Monodisciplinary projects are designed to enrich education in a single arts subject.

  • They are based on the compulsory curriculum of one of the Ministère’s four Arts Education programs.
  • The students’ education is enriched by focusing on a particular arts subject.
  • The goal is to foster students’ overall development.

Interdisciplinary projects are aimed at enriching education through a number of arts subjects.

  • They are based on two, three or even four of the Ministère’s compulsory Arts Education programs, of which one program is the main subject for certification purposes.
  • The part related to basic learning must be consistent with the spirit and competencies of the Québec Education Program for all the subjects included in the project. It must also respect the requirements of the Basic school regulation regarding the evaluation of learning.
  • The students’ arts education is enriched by coordinated interaction between the arts subjects and by the transferability of common elements in order to provide students with a broader arts education.

  • Previous arts education may be required.
  • These projets may require more than the number of hours of attendance at school required by the Basic school regulation.
  • In certain cases, some of the education may be provided on the premises of an arts education partner by legally qualified outside specialists who supplement the teacher's work.
