École préparatoire de musique Anna-Marie Globenski de l'Université Laval

The École préparatoire de musique Anna-Marie Globenski provides ongoing pedagogical support for private music teachers throughout Québec, in the form of programs including preparatory studies and spanning 11 additional levels (performance and music theory). This support also extends to examinations and annual meetings. All activities are supervised by specialists who are members of the academic policy committee of the École préparatoire de musique. The École provides an important measure of visibility for the Faculté de musique of Université Laval as well as recognition of the high quality of teaching in its programs. Mathieu Boucher, as administrative assistant to the dean of the Faculté de musique, is head of the École préparatoire.

Each year, theory and dictation examinations take place in March, and instrumental examinations are held in May at the Faculté de musique and in other regions of Québec: Abitibi, Côte-Nord, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie, Beauce, Mauricie, Estrie and Montréal. The examination juries are composed of Laval professors, lecturers, music program graduates, teachers from the Cégep de Sainte-Foy and other teachers authorized by the École préparatoire, which administers examinations to almost 1 600 students annually.
