Teacher Appreciation Week
Your teaching helps us all succeed!
Teacher Appreciation Week is an annual event that takes place during the first week of February. It is intended to recognize the commitment of teachers to education and their contributions to Québec society. Since 1994, schools have been celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week in a wide variety of ways, often with the participation of parents’ committees.
This year’s Teacher Appreciation Week will take place from February 4 to 10, under the theme “Your teaching helps us all succeed!”
This theme highlights the fundamental contribution made by teachers not only to the educational success of all students, in both the youth and adult sectors, but also to the success of Québec as a whole.
Given the essential role that they play each day with commitment, passion and competence, our teachers are truly deserving of our appreciation.
World Teachers' Day: October 5
Since 1994, World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated on October 5. It pays tribute to teachers in all levels of education throughout the world, and to researchers in the field of education. It is also intended to motivate governments and the people they serve to contribute sufficient financial assistance in support of teachers, and to ensure that access to education becomes a reality for the young people of today’s and tomorrow’s generations worldwide.

UNESCO is a specialized agency within the United Nations. Its objective is ambitious: to build peace in the minds of men and women through education. In the 21st century, making quality education a cornerstone of development is still an enormous challenge for many societies.
