To be eligible for funding, institutions must have students in Elementary Cycle Three. School boards must select projects that meet the following criteria:
- Projects must involve setting up new services that meet the needs of students.
- Projects must be integrated with the school’s success plan, which is based on its educational project.
- Projects must include a contribution from the community, for example, collaboration by sports and recreation organizations.
To ensure that these projects meet the needs of the community, the school board may add any other criteria, which it must make known to its schools.
The organization of transportation for students and the purchase of equipment are not eligible under this program, unless they make up only a very small portion of total project costs.
Projects submitted may involve more than one school. In fact, there may be as many eligible projects as there are success plans.
