School boards should select projects that meet the following criteria:
- Projects must include direct services that involve having an adult or peer present to help the student.
- Projects must also include indirect services to people, including parents, who are responsible for or interested in helping the students, and who can support them in completing their homework and assignments.
- Direct services must be offered outside class time.
The school board may add its own criteria. For greater efficiency, it may also organize services involving more than one school.
Whatever the nature and form of the projects, the choice should always be consistent with the program’s aims and guidelines, as described above.
The Ministère may request that modifications be made to projects that do not respect its criteria.
Expenses related to the organization of transportation and the purchase of equipment are not admissible under this program unless they constitute a very small proportion of the project’s costs.
