The 24th edition of the Science, on tourne! competition took place on April 29 and 30. This year, students had to build a vehicle that could do a round trip, one way powered by wind energy and the other by potential gravitational energy.
The Fédération des cégeps awarded several prizes, including the Merit Award to Simon Marcoux, Vincent Brunelle and Marek Wright of the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme. Simon, Vincent and Marek demonstrated their originality and resourcefulness with their machine, “The Peanut Express,” which was partially constructed of peanut butter container lids. Ingenious and efficient, this vehicle met the challenge and made quite the impression with its simple design, elegance and robustness.
