The Centre de développement de la formation et de la main-d’œuvre huron-wendat (CDFM) is an agency of the Ministère de l’Éducation located in Québec City’s Huron-Wendat community. The mandate of the Centre is to offer educational services to Indigenous adults in Québec and to support school boards and CEGEPs that offer vocational and technical training to cohorts primarily composed of Indigenous students.
During the 2016-2017 Presentation of attestations and bursaries, the Centre awarded diplomas to graduates and future graduates. At the same time, the director and founder of the Centre, Julie B. Vincent, received the Medal of the National Assembly from Geoffrey Kelley, Minister responsible for Native Affairs, and Véronyque Tremblay, MNA for Chauveau, in recognition of her entire career and her commitment to developing education services for Indigenous adults. Ms. Vincent was director of the CDFM for over 20 years, from its opening until her retirement in June.
