The 14th Québec Skills Competition in Vocational and Technical Training gives young people a chance to compete against others in their own trade or occupation. This year, more than 234 young people participated, representing over 30 fields of employment.
The students first had to distinguish themselves at their vocational training centre or college. Next, they had to be selected from among their region’s participants to go to the provincial competition. The 14th edition of this competition took place May 4 to 7, 2016, in Québec City, and more than 100 participants walked away with medals. The top award, the Best in Québec Prize, went to Patrick Martel, the gold medalist in Professional Sales. Twenty-three other competitors earned a medal for excellence.
Forty-two participants earned a spot in the Skills Canada National Competition, which will take place in Moncton this June. Congratulations to everyone who participated and good luck to those who are moving on to the National Competition!
